Wood Adhesive Gluing Tip

Having trouble getting substrates to stick when edge- or face-gluing hardwoods or softwoods? Try this simple test: Place a small drop of water on the substrate. If the wood doesn’t absorb the water, it could be burnished. It’s difficult for adhesive to penetrate burnished wood, too.
