Hit a play button, and watch one of our chemists create precisely the right pressure sensitive adhesive (PSA) to meet specific tape or label requirements – from scratch.
Our newest video, demonstrates Franklin Adhesives & Polymers unique ability to create and customize different types of PSAs – from water-based acrylic and microspheres to hot melts and laminating products – for diverse applications.
We are one of the few adhesives manufacturers in the U.S. that polymerizes its own adhesives. This gives us control over our products from start to finish. And our new video captures that entire process in a short five minutes. It’s fascinating to watch and gives you a sense of the complexities behind creating the ideal adhesive for specific applications and coating equipment.
Testing is a critical part of our product development. The video shows how we test physical and performance properties of all of our PSAs. We run peel, tack and shear tests on specific face stock and liner to optimize performance.
Since we work with both the coater and converter, we also evaluate finished label stock in real-world environments. You’ll see how we tested adhesive transfer over time from shelf marking labels on various types of shelf edges to ensure an adhesive that does not transfer glue, simplifying switch-out to new price labels.
