You're Never Too Old To Learn

There’s always room to learn new things. I always appreciated the importance of the extremes of the learning cycle. There's the early stages when a person learns enough to get to the point where he or she can ask questions. Then there's the expert end, best described by a quote attributed to Socrates, “The more I learn, the more I learn how little I know.” That’s profound (as you might expect from Socrates).

The reason I mention this is that there's an upcoming seminar from AWA Alexander Watson Associates titled, Adhesive Technology Seminar 2013. This is being billed as an in-depth, cross-disciplinary seminar covering the role of pressure-sensitive adhesives in many of today's markets—labeling, medical and hygiene, industrial tapes, graphic arts materials, specialty laminates, and a number of new application areas.

AWA Alexander Watson Associates is a leading industry research firm with a focus on the specialty paper, film, packaging, coating, and converting sectors. Along with its industry studies and advisory services, it holds a number of annual conferences/seminars covering topics such as heat shrink labels, release liners, in-mold decoration, and specialty papers.

The Adhesive Technology Seminar 2013 is scheduled for October 9 at the Hyatt Rosemont Hotel in Chicago. It promises to be an informative event.

According to AWA, the seminar agenda has been constructed to provide participants at a variety of levels—from raw material suppliers to end users—with a day of expert presentations covering key technical issues, along with established and developing technologies. A current list of presenters include Ashland, Dow Corning, Henkel, Mondi, and Novamelt Americas. Sessions will be supported by detailed market data from AWA.

More information on this event can be found on the AWA Alexander Watson Associates Web site at www.awa-bv.com.
