Wood Adhesive Gluing Tip

When using a clamp carrier to press an edge-glued set of billets of wood, some customers allow all billets in each set to pass over the coater. In this case, since all coated edges are facing the same direction during pressing, one billet must be rotated 180 degrees with respect to its long axis prior to applying pressure to the clamps. This results in a double-thick glue line between two billets of the set. A better alternative is to place one billet of wood from the set needed for gluing on top of the rest of the billets of the same set that passes over the coater. This placement will prevent the need to flip one coated billet after the billets have passed over the coater and prevent a double-thick coat of adhesive between two billets of the set. Due to the orientation of coated edges of the set during pressing, one end billet of the set does not need adhesive applied to its edge to adhere to the adjacent billet.
