Recent industry reports indicate that the filter industry will continue to grow at a good clip of more than 5 percent in 2014, primarily in environmental and health-related markets. And Franklin Adhesives & Polymers will maintain our strong focus on this important market through the year – and well beyond.
Over the past several years, we significantly broadened our product offering to filter manufacturers. We entered the filter assembly market in 1995 with two-part polyurethane potting compounds and have since added water-based polyvinyl acetates (PVAs), pressure sensitive adhesives (PSAs), mastics, PVA/PSA blends and epoxy emulsions.
In 2014, we will continue to develop new products that can be applied to filter media to enhance particle entrapment and overall filtration efficiency. We are also focused on expanding our PVA line for cardboard-wrapped air filters with products that offer long open times, high initial tack and easy cleanup. In addition, we plan to aggressively market our water-based, super-thick FilterFAB 150 sealant, a unique product that enables instant assembly of air filter media to various types of panel substrates.
You’ll continue to see us at all the tradeshows and conferences, including AFS, INDA Filtration and AHR conferences next year. And you’ll meet new people at Franklin as we expand our marketing, sales and technical support to maintain a high level of service to our growing base of filter assembly customers.
The manufacture of filters is a global industry, with half the market within U.S. borders and the other half outside of them. As a U.S.-based company with a strong global reach, we are poised to serve both domestic and international customers. We stand ready to meet increased assembly demands for the wide range of filters needed to serve global markets.
