Acrynax

New Acrynax PSAs Good for the Environment . . . and Your Bottom Line

Franklin Adhesives and Polymers has introduced a revolutionary line of PSAs able to reduce emissions into the environment – while reducing your production costs.

Our innovative new Acrynax acrylic polymer hot melts offer an ecologically safe alternative to solvent-based adhesives. Because solvents can be damaging to the atmosphere, they typically must be recovered or safely oxidized – a process that can add to your manufacturing costs. Acrynax adhesives eliminate the need for expensive solvent handling and enable you to keep production costs down.

You also will find Acrynax to be an excellent alternative to UV-curable pressure sensitive hot melts. Because it is a fully reacted hot melt adhesive, you can use it in the same machinery as rubber-based hot melts – which contain agents that interfere with UV-curing – without spending time or money cleaning out the equipment first. Further, because they are fully cured, Acrynax adhesives allow for much higher coating speeds than either solvent-based or water-based adhesives. High coating line speeds enable you to maximize productivity in your plant.

High versatility makes Acrynax all the easier for you to use. All Acrynax products exhibit good adhesion to a variety of materials, including polyester, glass, steel, aluminum, vinyl, fabric, non-wovens and paper. They are optically clear, skin-friendly and highly resistant to water, solvent, ultraviolet light and many plasticizers.

And, you can bring some of the remarkable characteristics of Acrynax to other adhesives in your plant, too: As a modifier, it imparts the benefits of acrylic chemistry to other types of adhesives.

We currently offer four Acrynax formulas to meet your specific product requirements:
Acrynax 11588 and Acrynax 11891 are two polymer products that offer both   higher viscosity and higher shear strength.
Acrynax 4326 is lower molecular weight polymer that offers higher strength, quick stick and loop tack values.
Acrynax 11891 is a cross-linked polymer that offers an excellent balance of shear, tack, peel and cold flow resistance – as well as greater plasticizer resistance than the linear polymers that comprise the other three Acrynax products.

For more information on the role Acrynax can play in the manufacture of your particular products, please visit our website at www.FranklinAdhesivesandPolymers.com or email us at marketing@franklininternational.com. We will be happy to explore the exciting possibilities of our newest adhesive line with you.

Acrynax

Acrynax Makes it Easy

This quick guide to handling and storing Acrynax underscores how easy it is to work with our newest adhesive technology.

Key Characteristics:
• 100 percent solids acrylic hot melt adhesives
• VOC-free formulas makes Acrynax products safe for the environment.
• Freeze-thaw stable
• No drying required; just heat and apply to substrate
Simple Storage Requirements
• No minimum storage temperature
• All Acrynax products – especially Acrynax 4326 – will cold flow even at elevated temperatures.
• We recommend that you store Acrynax in silicone-lined containers as Acrynax adhesives will adhere to most surfaces on contact.
• You can reheat and coat unused quantities for maximum cost-efficiency.
• With a minimum shelf life of four years, Acrynax is a solid investment.
Coating Comes Easy
• Acrynax resins can be coated by normal hot melt coating equipment such as roll coaters
and slot die coaters.
• Avoid skin contact with molten resin or coating equipment to avoid burns.

Filtration First
• We recommend filtration of molten resin to remove resin char.
